About my Pickup

In 1947 this truck loaded with a flathead was chopped an lowered Painted black and green and decaled with Bardahl In 1958 Richard Hicks bought the truck
and decided to drop a 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket with
4 Stromsburg 97's on a Horne Intake, backed by a Cadillac LaSalle top loader. With a Auburn Dash and 51 Merc. steering wheel. It was quite the looker. As a child I would walk home from school and stand on the runner board and peer in the window. When that truck went down the road It would turn every head in town. At 7 years old I was hooked. Since then I've owned just about every hot car I could buy but always in the back of my mind I wondered what it would be like to drive that 33 Ford Pick-up. for over 30 years I asked Richard If he would sell it. The first time I asked I was 18, he just laughed. Finely 30 years later, he decided the only way to get rid of that pesky kid was to sell what he called his " First Born ".

Hey Manny,  I am really curious if you are the one that got to the Calli Brothers 1.5 ton 33 Ford truck say about 1985 before I did?  Had no doors but did have a flathead.  It was red and was sold before they tore the old feed grainery down to make way for the twin towers De-Anza/Stevens Creek.  - Dennis

Hi: I wanted to say that when I was a kid in mountain view, calif. in 1957, I remember the green and black 1933 or 1934 pickup that the Bardahl salesman drove around . I always admired that truck. Even though I had a chopped and channeled 1932 3 window ford coupe back thae, I always had a yearn for one of those pickups. About 30 years ago I bought a stock 1933 pickup and I drive it almost every day. It is tan with black fenders. Still has a flathead in it. Now I am building a 1933 pickup for my grandson. I also have a complete original untouched 1933 ford ton and a half flatbead I bought off a feed lot. It is up on blocks. I have had it about 25 years and it used to run.
I really got my eyeballs perked up when I saw your Bardahl truck. Manny in Calistoga
