After a serious accident on 9-12-2001, I was hospitalized for 3 months, came home and had therapy for 6 months at home. My dream car was always a 41 Willys and after my recovery my wife said we had to find this car, life is to short to keep waiting for that "some day". We went to a show and saw this Willys, we drove it and bought it. We thought this was a done car, but of course we had to change some things to make it ours. We had to rewire the car, get the a/c working, change the supension, valve covers, hoses and tires. We then added wheelie bars and then decided to take it to Dales for the paint and some body work. We bought the car in 2003 and drove it a lot so it was time to redo it. The tilt nose was fitted with a custom roll-bar and actuators so that the hood is now remote, the doors were cracked at the hinges and had to be all reinforced and hung properly, and the paint idea was really left up to Dale. We had seen his work before and knew the car was in good hands, the only thing we really wanted were the skulls on the top of the scoop. Well we picked up the car on June 4, 2008 and brought to York, PA for the NSRA show where we won the PPG paint award, and then in July we we to Right Coast Syracuse Nationals and won the "Best Use of Color" award. We are almost done, the interior is getting redone in October and then we hope to be done with this car. We also have a 41 Willys pickup and a 41 Willys 2 door sedan. Once we bought the 1st one, we were hooked.
