About my Pickup

It is not very often you see a flat fender Willys let alone one that has been customized to the degree of this 1948 Willys pickup. Designed and owned by Paul Garrett in Moberly Missouri.
He has combined the classic good looks of the Flat fender with the comfort and drivability of modern upgrades. The modifications resulted in a tough looking rig that is an absolute pleasure to drive. An extreme amount of fabricating has been done to the truck, the drive train and frame are a totally recondition 1979 ford f250 with Dana 60 axels C6 automatic transmission and Ford 400 engine.
The front fenders were widened 5 inches on each side to accommodate the 16.5 Rock Crawler wheels fitted with 12x36 Goodyear wrangler tires. Three inches was added to the length of the hood and fitted with an aluminum radiator.  The cab was extended 18 inches and fabricated with ford ranger quarter windows creating a spacious and comfortable cab with plenty of leg room. A custom bed and tailgate finished the package.
During the buildup, special attention and detail was given to the interior of the truck as well. Custom door panels and armrest were created to give the truck a one of a kind personal touch and jump seats add extra seating when necessary.
This project started when an old yellow 1948 Willys cab was spotted in a farmers field in northwest Kansas just begging to be resurrected. It was hauled home in the back of a pickup to begin its new life.
Over the next 8 years the design was developed and parts were located to begin the construction. The Willys was delivered to the Moberly Correctional Center where Inmates are provided with the opportunity to work in an auto restoration shop. All the fabrication, modifications, paint, upholstery and custom detail was completed by the offenders in 16 months resulting in a one of a kind custom Willys Truck.
