About my Other Creat a Custom

Body: Safeway Food Store orange crate, black suade, detailed flames < Wade Hughes was not born yet.
Frame: 2X10 white pine.
Front end: My 1943 pedal car fron axel supported by a 2X4. 2 well greased 3" washers for rotation, 1/2" bolt thru 2X4, thru 2X10, capped by aircraft jam nut.
Steering: closet pole with 3 wraps of Mom's clothes line rope, down to eyelets. Ten penny nails pinned pole in holes.Steering wheel from my 1943 pedal car, Marylin Monroe suicide knob made for lighting turns....high tech !
Seating: 1X10, wrapped in Grandma's blue oil cloth.
Throttle: Dad's '41 Ford drop-top choke cable.
Axel engement: Grandma's old washer pulley bolted to wagon wheel. Idler pulley engaged dryer belt when I stepped on Dad's '41 Ford throttle pedal, boat rope actuated.
Engine: rebuilt Briggs & Stratton cement mixer motor. Cost $14 of my newspaper cash.
Brakes: PF Keds.
Much fun at 12, cruizin' the alleys of Washington DC.
Nothing has changed today !!
